Miss World Coronation Ball Case Study

About Project

The Event Production Company was tasked with staging a glittering Miss World Coronation Ball and black-tie banquet for 1200 high level guests, as the culmination of the Miss World Pageant at the Sandton Convention Centre in Johannesburg. In addition, we organised the Mayoral Welcome Banquet for 500 guests for the Miss World Contestants and their entourage upon their arrival in South Africa.

The challenge:

Working in conjunction with the Johannesburg Tourism Company (JTC) we had a tight two-week deadline to pull together the Coronation Banquet and Ball – an international highlight and celebration on the Miss World Calendar.

The Event Production Company managed the event in its entirety - from the design and production of the event and overseeing all the hospitality, logistics, staging, audio-visual aspects and live entertainment down to the personalized, printed and electronic invitations.

Managing the invitations and guest list for such a sought-after event proved tricky, with many – from the media and the public - clamouring for admission. In addition to handling invitations, responses and seating arrangements for the 1200 guests, The Event Production Company team had to ensure that guests were also zoned and seated according to the speciality hospitality packages they had booked.

The result:

The Event Production Company rose to challenges and time constraints, producing a fabulous, fun-filled, memorable banquet and ball in record time for the Miss World team and sponsors – and of course, not forgetting the world’s most glamorous girls and their families.
